Significant Events
On the 1st of January 802 was the beginning of the empire, Angkor/Khmer Empire. On the 16th May 875 was when the first temple built by the Angkor people. Indravarman I one of the first kings, he reigned 12 years and reigned from 16 May 877 - 16 May 889, he was a builder of the first Angkor reservoir and builder of Preah Ko and Bakong. There were many Kings reigning over 629 years. Some of the most significant events were, 16 May 1117 this is where the Chams a member of an indigenous people of Vietnam and Cambodia, rose up but they were defeated on 16 May 1181. At the 16th of May 1351, the Angkor Empire was sacked. They also got sacked again on the 16 May 1431. Sadly the Angkor Empire ended on the 16th of May 1432.
