Geography
The Angkor Empire was a powerful empire that ruled in parts of South East Asia, formed by people of the same name, lasting from 802 CE to 1431 CE. At its peak, the empire covered much of what today is Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and southern Vietnam.
Many Angkor homes were perched on stilts to cope with the flooding during the summer monsoon.
Right now the temples are surrounded by moss and the area also. Before then the area was very well fertilized and they had great forests surrounding their temples and homes. The Tonle Sap, the “great lake” provided them with the water they needed and provided them with transportation.
